About Fuel Injector Replacement
What is the fuel injector? The fuel injector turns liquid gas into a fine mist during the process where gas is transferred/pumped from the gas tank to the engine to burn and provide power to the vehicle. Each cylinder in your engine has itäóťs own fuel injector, so if you have 6 cylinders, you will also have 6 fuel injectors. How do you know your fuel injector needs to be replaced? You notice fuel is leaking or can smell gas Your vehicle is getting poor gas mileage The check engine light is illuminated The engine misfires How is the fuel injector replaced by a mobile mechanic? The vehicle's computer system is scanned for codes and the injectors are visibly inspected. If possible, each injector is OHM tested. The bad injector(s) are removed and replaced and the fuel filter is also replaced if it is not located inside the pump. Plenum gasket is replaced. The system is inspected for leakage and diagnostic information is cleared from the computer. The vehicle is road tested. How important is it to have your fuel injector replaced? If a fuel injector is not functioning, it will not be able to spray gas mist into the cylinder it is responsible for, and that cylinder will not be powered. When a cylinder is not powered, the engine will misfire and your vehicle will not run smoothly/correctly.
