    About Brake System Flush

What does the brake fluid do? Your brake system is powered by brake fluid. When your push down on the brake pedal, brake fluid is pushed into the caliper, pushing the piston in the caliper pressing the brake pads together against the rotor bringing the vehicle to a stop (disc brake system) How do you know you need your brake system flushed? When you press the brake pedal it goes very low to the floor. (This could also be due to your brake pads needing to be replaced) Spongy or dropping pedal High, firm pedal: if you waited until it's really bad and components have rusted and won't move How important is having your brake system flushed? Brake fluid absorbs moisture. When this happens it lowers the boiling point which in time can cause a spongy pedal. It's recommended to have the brake system flushed every 2 years or every 60,000 to 80,000kms. Please refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for recommended intervals for each vehicle.
