What does the brake booster vacuum sensor do? Brake boosters use a vacuum to generate additional force needed for efficient braking. The internal combustion engine in cars provide the vacuum with what it needs for the brake boosters to function. Most internal combustion engines come with a control system that senses when there is low workload and the engine will not operate on all eight cylinders. This system deactivates some of the cylinders for fuel conservation in the Displacement on Demand or DOD mode. Howeve? an engine in the DOD mode might not provide sufficient vacuum to the brake booster. The brake booster vacuum sensor is a single chip device that vehicle manufacturers fit onto the control unit of the brake booster. This device monitors the vacuum in the brake booster and ensures that there is a enough vacuum. If the vacuum levels fall below optimum level? the brake booster vacuum sensor sends a signal to the engine and deactivates the DOD mode. Once activate? the engine can once again create the vacuum needed for the brake booster to function. How do you know you need your brake booster vacuum sensor replaced? 5-Star Service
5-Star Service
"I'm a big fan of this incredibly convenient service! GoWrench staff do a great job and respect your time, unlike the nightmare that is involved in visiting the dealership/auto shop just to get your tires rotated or oil change. I shouldn't have to lose a day of work, two times a year, just for regular maintenance & tire swaps -- and with GoWrench, I never have to deal with the patronizing, dirty, and time-consuming service at the car dealership or auto shop, again!"
